Furniture
& design
for urban
lifestyles.
Carl Hansen & Son's furniture bursts with potent personality in every single piece. Their modern chairs, tables, stools, lighting and more maintain an intoxicatingly minimal style, but always with incredibly diverse details: curves, angles, arms and texture. A few years ago the company reached an impressive milestone: 100 years in business. They've lasted so long — Carl Hansen first opened his workshop in Denmark in 1908 — with a unique mix of high-quality, by-hand craftsmanship and smart series production. The company also has made a name for itself around the world for taking chances, like the one Carl Hansen's son took when he enlisted the design help of Hans J. Wegner in 1949. This combination of fearlessness, passionate craftsmanship (their motto), and extraordinarily good-looking furniture propelled them into today, and we predict, will sustain them for centuries to come.
