Two years ago Kelly was working as a glorified computer nerd and yet was still too broke to buy dinner, much less Christmas presents, so she did what anyone would do—took advantage of the fact that Hobby Lobby gives away coupons like they’re going out of style. She couldn’t draw, paint, scrapbook or sew so she found herself staring at her final option: jewelry. Despite never wearing any herself, she decided to give it a try. One all-nighter later, dEconstructed dEsign was born. Using vintage and broken pieces of jewelry, Kelly creates pieces that are truly one-of-a-kind—she refuses to create the same piece twice. Dynamic pieces that can be worn a multitude of ways, look for a series of necklaces where the clasp is the “jewel” and you can clasp and un-clasp a series of chains to always look different.
