If ever anyone needed proof that the worlds of fashion and interiors are connected, one only look to the success of British designer Paul Smith. A fashion menswear designer, it has been in the past decade that he's brought his keen eye for tailored shapes and gorgeous color combinations to the interior design world. In 2002, inspired by travel, he collaborated with Cappellini for the Mondo furniture collection. In 2003 he worked with Maharam for an upholstery textile line inspired by pinstripes. He takes the sort of designs he's used for years in suit fabrics and brings those bold stripes to furniture. Fabric so transformative it can bring an entirely new personality to a chair. However you bring Paul Smith's work into your home, it's bound to be (pardon the pun) fashionable.
