Amanda Almond

Assistant Designer

Originally born in Winnetka, a small suburb outside of Chicago (think Home Alone), Amanda then moved to Corpus Christi where she spent the rest of her adolescence. Shortly after, she attended the University of Texas - Austin, where she obtained her Bachelor's of Science Degree in Advertising with a Business Foundations Certificate. Subsequently, Amanda obtains a CIDA - accredited certificate in Interior Design from UCLA Extension, where she lived in Los Angels for the past two years. She is a proud member of ASID with a background primarily in residential design but is looking forward to branching out in commercial and hospitality projects in the future. Passionate about reducing our environmental impact, Amanda is a LEED Green Associate.

Amanda brings equal parts logistical and artistically minded to the Urbanspace team. She values concept-driven design that is both beautiful and functional while also utilizing her background in graphics to uniquely portray designs and visually describe concepts. As a client service philosophy, she believes that good designers are also good storytellers, it is their job to listen to the client to help them visually tell their story. Inspired by surreal, yet contemporary design visualizations which she often receives from @maison_de_sable and @charlottetaylr on Instagram.

In her downtime, Amanda enjoys traveling to experience new cultures, spending time in nature, and fostering animals from Austin Pets Alive. She's very passionate about helping dogs in need find their forever homes! After surviving three years in a long-distance relationship in college, she's recently engaged to her high school sweetheart, who both now live in Barton Hills together.

With previous experience for all that Austin has to offer, Amanda has knows all the best spots around the city. She can often be found at The Greenbelt or at The 360 Amphitheater as it offers many unique vibes. From relaxing on a blanket in the grass, sitting in the auditorium seats, or jumping around on the floor, she loves it all. When not exploring Austin's outdoor experiences, she can be found at Launderette enjoying the branzino!
