Elray is a lifetime design enthusiast and a native of Austin. His training and work as a welder and sculptor provided an understanding of the precision and toil that goes into the built environment. He has designed and fabricated custom furniture and sculpture for years. In that realm he has been awarded Cultural Contracts with the City of Austin and had his work placed in the permanent collections of local museums and privy collectors. He returned to school to complete a degree in Interior Design from Texas State University where, in his final year, he earned the recognition of 2018’s Best Student Work from the American Society of Interior Designers.
Elray is happy to be a part of the Urbanspace family where he hopes to continue learning and growing as a designer. In his free time he is enjoying Austin’s burgeoning culinary and arts scenes with his husband, designing their properties in Mexico, and creating back in his shop, under a welding hood.
