OW224 Rungstedlund Dining Table by Carl Hansen & Son

The sculptural OW224 Rungstedlund dining table was designed by Ole Wanscher in 1962. Intended Rungstedlund, which today is a museum, the table is a sleek, elliptical design crafted from bookmatched FSC-certified oak veneer. A Modern Dining Table Inspired by 18th-Century Design

Studying under Kaare Klint at The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, Ole Wanscher would become an integral part of the core aesthetic and functionality of Danish design. Influenced by 1700s English furniture, his designs would take on 18th-century characteristics whilst grounded in modernist ideology.
